June was a huge month for smartphones. Apple released their new iPhone 3GS and Nokia began shipping their N97 to the North America. Both phones are GSM models and therefore compete with each other in the eyes of the consumer. From price to features, the app store to the camera this video highlights the differences between the two devices allowing you to decide which phone is right for you.

Just a heads up, in terms of voice quality the phones both are very good and therefore didn’t merit a mention in the video.

The Nokia N97 is a S60 5th Edition mobile computer with a large 3,5“, bright nHD (640 x 360 pixels and 16:9 aspect ratio) TFT color display with resistive touch screen and tactile feedback. Speedy Go! running on the Omnia HD and Nokia N97. Notice how the graphic tests (sliding color and grey bars) run MUCH faster on the Omnia and how much sooner the whole benchmark ends on the Omnia HD. This clearly shows how much faster it is… Full review available at my-symbian.com.

N97Geeks took Nokia N97 for some tests, stress test! Let’s see the following videos. It’s gonna be hard to watch. LOL!

Test 1: Screen scratch test

Used the stylus, a coin and a key to test just how scratch resistant the screen on the Nokia N97 is.

Test 2: Pocket test

placed the phone in a bag, along with coins and keys to see what damage could be done if you accidentally put the phone in your pocket with other stuff.

Test 3: Paintwork scratch test

Test how easily the paint work scuffed and scratched.

Test 4: Cereal test

So just what happens if you drop your N97 in a bowl of cereal?

Test 5: Wash test

Washing with soap and water.

Nokia N97 passed the first 4 tests with flying colours! Although a few marks were cut. There were some condensation on the screen after the test 5 but it’s still functioning and should be alright after the device is dry. So, I consider it as a pass. You can read full review here.
